CONWAY, Ark. (AP)   A two-term Republican congressman and the state legislator challenging him are squaring off in the only debate for a central Arkansas congressional seat Democrats hope to flip next month.

Republican Congressman French Hill and Democratic state Rep. Clarke Tucker were set to debate Monday at the University of Central Arkansas in the race for Arkansas’ 2nd Congressional District. The district includes Little Rock and seven central Arkansas counties.

Arkansas hasn’t sent a Democrat to the U.S. House since 2010, but Democrats believe they have a chance to unseat Hill. The debate will air on Tuesday night on the Arkansas Educational Television Network and also features Libertarian nominee Joe Swafford.
