LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) – The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette has said a long-time editor and TV columnist has died in his home in Little Rock. He was 69.

The newspaper’s managing editor, David Bailey, said in an all-staff email Monday that Michael Storey apparently died in his sleep while napping Sunday.

After serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1970 to 1974, Storey began working at the Democrat-Gazette in 1977, where he wrote a weekly fabricated humor column called Otus the Head Cat. Storey also covered the Arkansas’ walking trails and was an associate editor and TV columnist.

The cause of death is not known.
