The first night of the 2A-North District Volleyball Tournament ended Monday with Cotter and Flippin clinching state tournament berths. The Lady Warriors defeated Salem in straight sets with scores of 25-15, 25-15 and 25-22. The Lady Bobcats eliminated Izard County in straight sets after posting scores of 25-11, 28-26 and 25-16.
The 3A-North District Tournament began at Atkins with Bergman picking up a state tournament bid. The Lady Panthers upset Green Forest in straight sets with scores of 25-18, 25-19 and 25-12.
Bergman’s next opponent will be Perryville. Marshall lost to the Lady Mustangs in straight sets by finals of 25-13, 25-17 and 25-16.
Valley Springs came up short in a match needing all five sets. Clinton topped the Lady Tigers 25-19, 19-25, 23-25, 25-19 and 15-10.
