In high school basketball Tuesday night, the Bad Boys Mowers Basketball Classic continued at Izard County High School and a pair of area schools split their games.
The Calico Rock teams opened their seasons by splitting games against Sloan-Hendrix. The Pirates posted a 68-51 win but the Lady Pirates lost 66-60.
Mammoth Spring split their games against Timbo. The Lady Bears got a 61-34 win. Stephanie Henry paced Mammoth Spring with 25 points and Lauren Mitchell added 16 points and 8 rebounds.
Timbo topped Mammoth Spring in the boy’s contest 52-45. Jacob Golden and Zack Flynn each scored 14 points for the Bears while Alex Mero added 11.
In the other games, the Mount Vernon-Enola girls topped Hillcrest 62-32 with Hillcrest winning the boy’s game 78-73.
