A Taney County man is accused of holding a pair of college students at gunpoint and forcing them to perform sex acts with each other. According to the Branson Tri-Lakes News, 49-year-old Robert Hyslop of Branson was arrested Thursday and booked into the Taney County Jail on felony counts of first-degree sexual abuse and first-degree sodomy and two felony counts of first-degree kidnapping. He is being held without bond.

An affidavit from the Taney County Sheriff’s Office states Hyslop located a male and a female sleeping in a vehicle in a commuter parking lot along Gage Drive in Hollister Oct. 29th. The two individuals were reportedly students at the College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, and they were sleeping in the vehicle because they had returned to campus after the gates had already been closed.

The victims allegedly woke up about 5:00 in the morning to the sound of shattered glass and observed a male standing by the passenger side of the window with a hammer and a firearm. Hyslop reportedly instructed one of the victims to move over so he could get in the vehicle, and he then told the driver to drive to an overlook on Missouri Highway 165. Hyslop allegedly instructed the victims to undress and perform sex acts on each other. He also reportedly told the female to touch him inappropriately.

Authorities were able to identify Hyslop using surveillance video from a nearby business. Hyslop was interviewed by a detective and reportedly admitted he was high on methamphetamine for three days. The detective says Hyslop also admitted to the allegations against him and claimed he instructed the victims around 6:00 to drive him back to Hollister and drop him off at his vehicle.

A court date has not been scheduled for Hyslop.
