Michael McHugh of Gassville was sentenced to six years in prison, with three suspended and three to serve, after pleading guilty to drug-related charges during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

The 45-year-old McHugh was first arrested in late October last year when the operator of a towing company found a wallet belonging to McHugh in an impounded vehicle. The company owner thought he noticed a small quantity of an illegal drug in the wallet and notified the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies did find drugs, and McHugh was arrested.

McHugh’s second arrest came in mid-February as the result of a traffic stop. The officer found a substance field testing positive for methamphetamine and a set of digital scales.
