Thursday hoops results include Norfork winning battle of top girl’s teams

In high school basketball Thursday night, Izard County split their games with Bradford. The Izard County boys are now 8-0 after winning 54-34. Coby Everett led the way with 26 points while Justus Cooper scored 15.
Bradford won the girl’s contest 42-33. Ashlynn Bratcher scored 12 for the Lady Cougars who fall to 5-3. Bradford also won the junior girl’s game 31-16.

In other boy’s action:
-Viola lost to Batesville 80-68. The Longhorns fall to 6-4.
-Flippin defeated Kingston 75-58. The Bobcats are now 7-4.
-Yellville-Summit fell to Jonesboro Westside 71-29. The Panthers are now 1-1.
-Valley Springs was an 80-36 winner over Clinton. The Tigers are off to a 10-0 start.

In girl’s action:
-In a battle of two of the top girl’s teams in the area, Norfork handed Jasper their first loss 57-48. The Lady Panthers improve to 8-2 while the Lady Pirates fall to 7-1.
-Cotter got roughed up by Lead Hill 68-37. The Lady Warriors fall to 2-8.
-Yellville-Summit was edged out by Kingston 44-41. The Lady Panthers are now 1-4.
-Viola held off Valley View 61-51. The Lady Longhorns improve to 7-1.
-Valley Springs got past Wonderview 45-39. The Lady Tigers up their record to 9-2.
