Catherine Bragg of Gassville pled guilty to drug-related charges during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday and was put on probation for three years.

The 20-year-old Bragg was arrested July 9th when members of the 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force set up surveillance in the Pinkston Middle School area after being notified of suspected drug activity.

According to the probable cause affidavit, officers observed Bragg get into the passenger’s side of a small pickup truck. The truck was stopped after it left the school parking area and headed north on Maple Street. Officers reported the truck was speeding, crossing lanes of the highway and making turns without the required signal.

When Bragg exited the vehicle after it was stopped, she was reported to have attempted to conceal a small plastic bag in her waistband. Bragg was alleged to have admitted to police the bag contained methamphetamine and she had other bags concealed on her person.

The substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the affidavit.

Bragg was sentenced under the provisions of Act 346, meaning if she stays out of trouble during her probation, she can apply to the courts to have her record sealed.
