Lawrence Walls of Gassville entered a guilty plea to drug-related charges and was placed on probation for five years during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

The 44-year-old Walls was arrested in late October when he was found to have marijuana and three small plastic bags containing a substance field-testing positive for methamphetamine.

The arrest came when a Mountain Home police officer saw a truck pull into a local convenience store. It was being driven by a man who had an active Marion County warrant. Walls was a passenger in the pickup.

When the officer made contact with Walls, he was reported to have been “uncontrollably shaking.”

During the plea change and sentencing process Thursday, Walls told the court he intended to return to his home in Pine Bluff and wanted his probation supervision transferred to the Jefferson County city.
