The Christmas season began in Mountain Home on Friday. The annual Myrtle Wood Chamberlain Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony was held at the Baxter County Courthouse square.

The Call co-founder Mary Carol Pederson gave the Christmas message as she talked about the importance of the organization’s mission especially during the holiday season. Pederson pointed out to the crowd there are 38 foster children in Baxter County, but only 16 foster families to care for them.
