A Marion County man is accused of striking his pregnant girlfriend with a vehicle ashtray after learning of her other relationship. Twenty-five-year-old Coron Johnson of Flippin was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center Friday afternoon and posted bond nearly 2 1/2 hours later.

The victim told a Baxter County deputy Dec. 9th her boyfriend, identified as Johnson, was upset with her because she was having another relationship, and he allegedly told her to drive him to where the other party resides. As Johnson was a passenger in the vehicle, he reportedly became more agitated and grabbed the steering wheel attempting to turn the vehicle into the ditch. The victim alleges Johnson then pulled the ashtray from the dashboard, threw ashes into her eyes and ear, threw the ashtray at her, punched her several times and kicked the vehicle’s interior. Johnson reportedly damaged the windshield, dash, rearview mirror, overhead storage and sun visor.

The victim says she later went to the emergency room at Baxter Regional Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries. She reported she is seven months pregnant with Johnson’s child, and he is aware of the pregnancy. The victim later went to the sheriff’s criminal investigation division and showed her injuries, including bruising to her left ear, left collarbone and down her right arm and right side.

Johnson faces felony counts of first-degree criminal mischief and third-degree battery. His bond was set at $7,500.
