In high school basketball Tuesday night, Izard County split their games against Sloan-Hendrix. The Cougars jumped out to a 26-4 lead and cruised to a 58-35 win. Caleb Faulkner led the way with 20 points, Justus Cooper had 16 points and 12 rebounds and Coby Everett scored 13 as the Cougars improve to 18-2 on the season.
The Lady Cougars lost to Sloan-Hendrix 51-38. Maura Thomason paced Izard County with 11 points as they fall to 12-5.
Izard County won the junior boy’s game 51-39 to improve to 7-4. Gunner Gleghorn led the attack with 19 points and Denton Reilly scored 12.

In other boy’s action:
-Gainesville lost to Mountain Grove 71-52. The Bulldogs fall to 2-8.
-Bakersfield topped Lutie 70-48 at the Bradleyville Tournament.
-Viola fell to Omaha 79-53. The Longhorns fall to 13-8.
-Salem lost to Bay 68-33.
-Yellville-Summit was a 64-46 winner over Deer. The Panthers are now 9-3.

In girl’s action:
-Bakersfield won their opener at the Bradleyville Tournament 62-32 over Lighthouse Christian.
-Lutie lost at the Bradleyville Tournament to the host team 96-17.
-Viola was a 52-28 winner over Omaha. The Lady Longhorns improve to 17-3.
-Yellville-Summit topped Deer 56-42 to improve to 4-10 on the year.
-Dora lost to Houston 61-52

The Mountain Home 7th grade teams split their games at home against Melbourne. The 7th Grade Bombers won 38-21. Braiden Dewey led the way with 14 points and McGee Harris scored 10.
Melbourne won the 7th grade girl’s game 37-18. Parker Huskey led Mountain Home with 7 points.
