Scripture-quoting woman named Lord refuses to leave, arrested on drug charge

A Searcy County woman, 35-year-old Leah Lord of Marshall, has been arrested on drug charges, after she entered a residence in Oxley Wednesday without permission and refused to leave. While inside the residence, Lord, who is also known as Leah Baker, was reportedly quoting Bible scripture and saying she wasn’t leaving.According to the probable cause affidavit, deputies were called to a residence in Oxley where a man reported a woman was in his rental house, did not live or belong there, and refused to leave. The man said the woman, later ironically identified as Lord, said the Bible told her to enter the residence and quoted scripture.

Lord was arrested and transported to the Searcy County Detention Center. En route, she allegedly told a deputy sheriff she had ingested crystal methamphetamine the previous evening.

During the booking process, a baggie containing methamphetamine residue was reportedly located in Lord’s undergarment.

She has been charged with felony counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and introducing prohibited articles into a correctional facility, as well as a misdemeanor count of criminal trespassing.

The amount of her bond was not provided.
