The Mountain Home FIRST Robotics Competition Team, also known as “Lights Out,” took part in the Arkansas Rock City Regional this past weekend at Barton Coliseum in Little Rock. The team advanced as far as the semifinals of the double elimination tournament.
The team of Gage Simmons, Chase Blum, Nick Huett and George Smith also won the Industrial Design Award sponsored by General Motors for their robot “Tomahawk.” They joined 58 other robotics teams from several surrounding states and the countries of Mexico, Brazil and Germany to compete in the 2019 challenge “Destination: Deep Space.”
The team will compete this coming weekend in the Central Illinois Regional at Peoria.
