Kill 'Em with Kindness: How Dierks Bentley Made Cam Cry with a Coozie Full of Cash

ABC/Randy HolmesWhen Cam returned from her honeymoon in Tokyo and Bali Monday morning, she was welcomed home with good news. The two-time CMA nominee learned she’s also up for Favorite Country Female at this year’s American Music Awards.

While the jet-lagged “Burning House” hitmaker was clearly overjoyed, she admitted she’s not immune to the same real-life pressures any other newlywed experiences, particularly paying for both a new house and a wedding.

She confesses that made the present from her summer tourmate Dierks Bentley even more special.

“He gave me a little — I think it’s ‘Sippin’ Something Strong’ — one of his little coozies that he’s got for a drink, [and it] just had a wad of cash in it!” she laughed. “And I bawled. Because I think anybody who knows what it’s like to not have a lot of money and be stretched for cash, that’s probably one of the sweetest things. He’s like, ‘I remember what it was like, it’s really stressful.’ I could cry talking about it right now!” she admitted. “… He’s like, ‘I wish I was giving you a specific gift.’ I was like ‘No, I really need this cash!’”

Cam tied the knot with commercial real estate agent Adam Weaver in Joshua Tree, California, in late September.
