NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) The remaining arches of the Broadway Bridge over the Arkansas River from North Little Rock to Little Rock have been brought down.

Explosives downed two of three arches Saturday morning, but one withstood the blast and the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports crews used a pneumatic ram to knock down the third arch about 2:30 p.m. The ram was attached to a barge.

Explosives were used Tuesday to try and take down a steel arch, but the structure stayed put. It took about five hours to bring it down by attaching a cable and pulling it down.

Crews have a 180-day deadline to demolish the 93-year-old bridge and install a new one.

Officials say there is no deadline for removing debris from Saturday’s demolition because it isn’t in the navigation channel.
