Springfield man fatally struck while walking on roadway

     (AP) – A 78-year-old man died after he was hit by a vehicle
while he was walking along a roadway north of Springfield.
     The Springfield News-Leader reports that Hubert L. House of Springfield was
fatally struck by a pickup truck Saturday evening.
     The Missouri State Highway Patrol says House was declared dead at the scene.
