Phil Lesh, Gov't Mule Among First Artists Confirmed to Play 2017 Lockn' Festival

Courtesy of Lockn’ FestivalFounding Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh and Gov’t Mule, the group fronted by ex-Allman Brothers Band guitarist Warren Haynes, are part of the initial lineup of the 2017 Lockn’ Festival, scheduled for August 24-27 at Oak Ridge Farm in Arrington, Virginia.

Lesh is slated to perform with two different groups during the fifth anniversary event, his Phil Lesh & Friends collective and an outfit called The Terrapin Family Band. Phil’s performance with the latter group will celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Grateful Dead’s 1977 album Terrapin Station.

Among the other acts confirmed to perform at next year’s Lockn’ fest are Widespread Panic, Umphrey’s McGee, The String Cheese Incident, moe., Margo Price, Brandi Carlile and The Avett Brothers. Additional artists will be announced soon.
