Authorities say a man suspected in the killing of a woman near Little Rock has been found dead in a rural area of Woodruff County.
Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Cody Burk says George Ricky Jenkins was found dead Tuesday night at a cabin in Gregory, about 60 miles northeast of Little Rock. Jenkins was a suspect in the Tuesday morning shooting death of Brandi Johnson-Bennett.
Another woman was wounded in the Pulaski County shooting.
Burk says authorities received a tip that Jenkins may be at the property in Woodruff County. As deputies approached the property, shots were fired from inside the cabin so a SWAT team was called in.
Burk says the SWAT team later discovered Jenkins dead inside the building. Jenkins’ cause of death has not been released.
