Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford and Los Lobos singer/guitarists David Hidalgo and Cesar Rosas will appear on select dates of the Jimi Hendrix tribute tour, which is mapped out through a March 26 show in Prior Lake, Minnesota.

Whitford, who has participated in a quite a few previous Experience Hendrix tours, will join this year’s trek on March 10, 11 and 12. A Hendrix fan since he was a teenager, Brad notes, “He had a really deep understanding and knowledge of blues. I don’t know where it came from. We all try and cop that feel. We can’t quite nail it, but it sure is fun to try and emulate some of what he did.”

Hidalgo and Rosas, who also have been regular participants in past treks, will be on hand for the March 9, 10 and 11 dates. Rosas recalls listening to Hendrix’s music as a kid growing up in East L.A.

“It was so different from everything else,” he says. “It was exciting, great music.”

As has become tradition, this year’s Experience Hendrix Tour will be anchored by ex-Jimi Hendrix Experience and Band of Gypsys bassist Billy Cox. The 2017 lineup also features blues legend Buddy Guy, Black Label Society frontman and ex-Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde, Double Trouble drummer Chris Layton, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Dweezil Zappa, among others.

Fans purchasing a pair of tickets to select dates on the trek will receive a free CD copy of the new archival album Machine Gun: The Fillmore East First Show 12/31/69:
