The Cotter High School girls’ basketball team had a rough outing on the road Friday as they fell to Marshall 59-51. Alexa Wooten led the Lady Warriors with 18 points and ten rebounds, and Hannia Garay added ten points. Cotter falls to 14-13 on the season, and they’ll host Calico Rock on Monday.



Yellville-Summit picked up a pair of high school victories at Green Forest.

The boys’ game ended with the Panthers defeating the Tigers 51-32. Yellville-Summit was led by Ben Riddle with 13 points.

Yellville-Summit also took the girls’ game over Green Forest 55-37. Taylor McFarland was the Lady Panthers’ top scorer with 14 points, and Justina Jenkins chipped in 11.



A few area boys’ basketball teams suffered losses Friday in the Sparta Trojans Basketball Classic. In the consolation games, Bakersfield fell to the host team 42-38, and Gainesville lost to Lighthouse Christian 64-56. Forsyth suffered a setback in the semifinals after top-seeded Fair Grove posted the 78-53 decision.



Mountain Home Christian Academy had mixed results as they took on Rolla at Mansfield.

In the varsity game, the Eagles were edged out by the Royals 51-49. Matt Woods led Mountain Home Christian with 20 points and ten rebounds, and Bradley Taylor had ten points and ten boards.

It was a different results in the junior varsity contest as Mountain Home Christian beat Rolla 49-39. The J.V. Eagles were led by Jack Wendfeldt with 22 points and ten rebounds, and Trenton Cox finished with 22 points.
