Taylor George of Mountain Home was given a 10-year-prison sentence after changing his plea to guilty on a theft of property charge during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.
The 27-year-old George was charged with stealing a woman’s car from the driveway of a home on Bayside Terrace. The victim told investigators she was cleaning the Bayside Terrace residence. She said she arrived about 11 a.m. on January 3rd and when she left to make a trip to the store about 1:55 p.m., her vehicle was gone.
George was developed as a suspect when a neighbor said he had been in the neighborhood on foot. As a Baxter County Deputy Sheriff was interviewing the victim, he was informed that an Arkansas State Police Trooper had located the stolen vehicle and had taken George into custody.
Surveillance video footage also identified George as the person taking the vehicle.
George was involved in another vehicle theft in May last year when he took a pickup truck from the lot of the Old Chi Mill on U.S. Highway 62/412 and was given three years in prison.
