
Cotter split a pair of girls’ basketball games with Calico Rock on Monday.
The high school game ended with the Lady Warriors defeating the Lady Pirates 58-43. Rebecca Martin and Marie Reed led Cotter with 13 points each, and Hannia Garay added ten.
Cotter did not fare as well in the junior high contest as they fell to Calico Rock 47-16. The Junior Lady Warriors drop to 0-8 in the 2A/1A-3.
Norfork was able to sweep a pair of high school games over Flippin. In the boys’ game, the Panthers topped the Bobcats 58-45. Norfork also took the girls’ contest over Flippin 74-23.
Gainesville’s girls were able to bounce back from their first loss of the season. The Lady Bulldogs, ranked third in Missouri’s Class 2, played their second straight top ten team and defeated ninth ranked Spokane 67-50. Gainesville improves to 18-1 on the season.
The Viola boys went on the road and suffered a 51-45 loss to Mammoth Spring. The Bears were led by Sagen Godwin with 22 points, and Logan Skaggs chipped in 14. Mammoth Spring is now 20-7 on the year and 9-3 in the 2A/1A-3.
Two of Mountain Home’s junior high boys’ basketball teams were able to pick up wins over the Arkansas Flames home school program at the Hangar.
The freshman game finished with the Junior Bombers beating the Junior Flames 53-39. Wyatt Gilbert and Abe Crawford were Mountain Home’s top scorers with 14 points each. The Junior Bombers’ record is now 9-8.
The evening began with Mountain Home’s seventh graders getting past Arkansas 43-34.
Mountain Home will remain at home Thursday as they take on Valley Springs.
Yellville-Summit’s junior girls suffered a 46-20 loss to Valley Springs. Leah Still led the Junior Lady Panthers with 12 points.
