The Mountain Home freshmen girls’ basketball team watched their season come to an end Wednesday in the semifinals of the 6A-East Conference Tournament at Jonesboro. After the game was tied with about a minute to go, Marion pulled away for a 32-24 victory over the Junior Lady Bombers. Anna Grace Foreman led Mountain Home with 12 points. The Junior Lady Bombers’ final record for the year is 15-5.
The championship games for the 1A-1 East Conference Tournament were set after Wednesday’s games at North Arkansas College’s Pioneer Pavilion in Harrison.
St. Joe was able to take the girls’ game by defeating Western Grove 48-40. The Lady Wildcats will face top-seeded Jasper for the title on Friday.
Western Grove also lost the boys’ contest as Jasper posted the 62-28 victory. The Pirates’ opponent in the final will be the number one seed from Deer.
