Fisher and Nosari selected as National Merit Scholarshp finalists

Two Mountain Home High School Seniors, Anna Fisher and Hunt Nosari, have been named National Merit Scholarship Finalists. They are among the 15,000 students from around the United States who will be competing for one of 2,500 National Merit Scholarships. The $2,500 scholarships are awarded on a state-representational basis.
One thousand corporate sponsored Merit scholarship awards are provided by 230 corporations and businesses for finalists who meet specified criteria and 190 colleges and universities will finance 4,000 college sponsored scholarship awards for finalists who will attend the sponsor institution.
Merit scholars are selected on the basis of skills, accomplishments and potential for success in rigorous college studies, without regard to gender, race, ethnic origin or religious preference.
Fisher is the daughter of David and Tracy Fisher. A member of the Bomb Squad, she was recently chosen to receive the National Center for Women and Information Technology Award for Aspirations in Computing by the Information Technology Research Institute at the Sam M. Walton College for Business.
Nosari is the son of Chris and Kelley Nosari. A member of the Mountain Home High School Cross Country Team, he is a member of Future Business Leaders of America and an Eagle Scout.
National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced beginning in April. Over 323,000 students have earned the distinction of being named National Merit Scholars.
