Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says an arrest has been made following an investigation into the theft of an Xbox 1 gaming device in early January. The sheriff says 26 year old Aaron Ray Ashworth of rural Mountain Home is charged with felony residential burglary and misdemeanor theft of property. He was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Baxter County jail with bond set at $25,000.

According to the sheriff, the victim reported the Xbox was discovered missing from a downstairs bedroom of a residence on Hunt Club Drive in Mountain Home January 8. During the investigation of the room, a dirty footprint and debris was found on the floor, just inside the doorway leading to a common area.

The stolen item was entered into the National Crime Information Center database. In mid-February the Xbox was pawned at a local pawn shop and the sheriff was notified. It was discovered the man who pawned the items was accompanied by Ashworth and the pawn show was asked to allow Ashworth to redeem the item at a later date.

Another person believed to have knowledge of the theft told investigators, when being interviewed, Ashworth had entered the home and taken the Xbox four days before it was reported missing. When interviewed, Ashworth refused to answer investigators questions.

Aaron Ray Ashworth was to appear in circuit court Thursday.
