Red Cross announces March donation locations

     The American Red Cross is encouraging area residents to donate blood. All types of blood are needed to keep a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or drivers license or two other forms of identification are needed at the check-in. Individuals who are seventeen or older (16 with parental consent), who are over 110 pounds and are generally in good health are may be eligible to donate. High school students and other donors 18 years old or younger must meet certain height and weight requirements.
     Blood donors can also now save time at their next donation by using RapidPass to complete their pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online, on the day of the donation, prior to donating blood. To get started or learn more, visit redcrossblood.org/RapidPass.
     Donation opportunities in Baxter County include; At the Mountain Home Blood Donation Center, March 6th from 9 to 5, March 8th from 10 to 5, March 9th, 10th, and 12th from 8 to 3, March 13th from 9 to 5, and March 15th from 10 to 5.
     In Omaha, at the Omaha High School, March 9th from 9 to 2.
     In Fox, at the Antioch General Baptist Church, March 13th from 2:30 to 7.
     In Melbourne, at Ozarka College John E. Miller Complex, March 14th from 1 to 5.
     In Yellville, at Yellville-Summitt High School, March 15th from 9 to 2.
     The American Red Cross shelters, feeds, and provides emotional support to victims of disasters. The Red Cross also supplies 40% of the nation's blood blood.
