Nutrient applicator certification is being offered Thursday evening at 6 in the Marion County Fairgrounds Community Building. Attendance is free, with applicator certification fees set at $30 for private and $60 for commercial with a $250 commercial testing fee. Fees are to be mailed after the meeting.
Anyone applying any nitrogen or phosphorus fertilizer, in organic or commercial form, on 2.5 acres or more in designated nutrient surplus areas is required to have nutrient applicator certification. Certification renewal is every five years with four hours of continuing education required within the five year period.
