MSO PRIf you’re a Yes fan, maybe the only thing as good as the band finally being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Friday is the announcement that they’re going on tour.
The YESTIVAL, as the trek is dubbed, will feature not only Yes, but also Todd Rundgren, as well as Carl Palmer‘s ELP Legacy.
“We are looking forward to presenting songs from each of the first nine studio albums, including some surprises,” Yes guitarist Steve Howe says in a statement announcing the outing. Specifically, Yes will play a single track from each of their studio albums, beginning with their 1969 debut, Yes, through 1980’s Drama — all of them in chronological order, and with “a few surprises thrown in.”
Notably absent from that album roster is 90125, the 1983 follow-up to Drama and the most commercially successful Yes effort. Of course, it also didn’t feature Howe. Maybe a performance of “Owner of a Lonely Heart” will be one of those “surprises.”
The 17-date tour kicks off August 4 in Greensboro, North Carolina, and wraps September 3 in Tulalip, Washington. Tickets go on sale Thursday, April 13 — check YesWorld.com for details.
