The heavy rains have caused roads to be closed and local rivers to rise throughout the Twin Lakes Area.
Several roads remain shut down throughout Ozark County. According to a sheriff’s dispatch spokesperson, Highway 5 north and south of Gainesville is currently open to through traffic, and Highway 160 in Gainesville is also passible. The Highway 160 bridge at Tecumseh is among many roads closed in Ozark County.
Most roads are open in Baxter County. According to a Baxter County Road and Bridge department spokesperson, the main road closure is County Road 1, also known as Denton Ferry Road, north of Cotter.
Most roads are also open in Marion County. A Marion County Sheriff’s dispatch spokesperson says most of the closures are on low water bridges.
In addition, local river levels continue to increase as two are above flood stage. The Buffalo National River at St. Joe was at a level of 32.7 feet at 7:45 Sunday morning with the flood stage at 27 feet, and the North Fork of the White River at Tecumseh was at 35.51 feet at 9:45 Saturday evening with the flood stage at 20 feet. The White River at Calico Rock was at 14.43 feet at 8:15 Sunday morning with the flood stage set for 19 feet.
