A rural Mountain Home man, 21-year-old Todd Austin Plumlee, was arrested Tuesday afternoon on two counts of felony forgery charges. He was booked into the Baxter County Detention center and released the same day on a $5,000 bond.

According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, the Sheriff’s Office took a report on April fifth of two checks taken from a checkbook and forged for merchandise at Walmart. Plumlee was named as the suspect.

He was brought to the Sheriff’s Office Wednesday where he admitted to stealing the checks and forging them.

He allegedly purchased a flat screen television and a set of headphones at the store for just over $974 and then returned the merchandise for cash the same day.

Plumlee is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court.
