A Mountain Home man, 24-year-old Ryan Michael Kinsley, has been arrested and charged with residential burglary and theft following an investigation into the break-in of a home earlier this month.

Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says officers were called to 353 County Road 608 on May 2 where the front door of the home had been kicked in, breaking the door jam. In addition, the garage door had been opened. Officers photographed a shoe print left behind on the door. At the time of the initial report, the possible missing items of property were undetermined.

On May 8, the homeowner discovered that his 21” Craftsman push mower was missing. Kinsley, who had been working at the property as an employee of a roofing company, was developed as a suspect after it was learned he had just come into possession of a Craftsman push mower.

Sheriff’s investigators then located Kinsley at his home in Mountain Home and observed the mower in the carport. The deck and cowling of the mower had been painted to alter its appearance.

Kinsley consented to investigators looking at the bottom of his shoe, which was compared to the photograph of the shoe print taken from the door, and it matched.

Kinsley was arrested and transported to the Baxter County Detention Center where he was booked on a felony residential burglary charge and two misdemeanor charges, including theft of property. He is being held in lieu of a $15,000 bond, awaiting appearance in Baxter County Circuit Court.
