(AP) – The remains of two Arkansas veterans killed in World
War II and the Korean War have been found and returned to the state.The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports Army Pfc. Robert Mitchell of Searcy and
Marine Pfc. Larry Roberts of Damascus were among the about 80,000 service
members still unaccounted for from the two wars.

The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, which identifies remains of American
military members killed in action, matched DNA from the remains of Mitchell and
Roberts to their relatives.
Mitchell’s remains were found in 1952 in South Korea, but it took more than 60
years to positively identify them. Roberts’ remains were discovered in 2015 at a
burial site on Betio Island.
Mitchell was buried in Beebe on Saturday. Roberts is expected to be buried
Wednesday at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
