FULTON, Mo. (AP) – Fulton police are looking for three stolen sculpture pieces that are part of a 32-piece sculpture that was to be used in a new forensic center currently being constructed.Police Lt. William Ladwig said Friday the theft of the pieces was reported Wednesday but it’s unclear when they were taken. No physical evidence was left at the scene.

The Jefferson City News-Tribune reports that the sculpture depicts a grizzly bear in the Great Seal of Missouri. All the pieces were in storage for about six months and the thefts weren’t noticed until construction workers began reassembling the sculpture.

Fulton State Hospital is undergoing a $211 million construction project that includes a new, 300-bed maximum and intermediate security facility to replace the 200-bed Biggs Forensic Center.
