The Mountain Home High School baseball team is expected to have a new head coach Thursday night. Mountain Home Athletic Director Mitch Huskey says interviews were conducted last week with six of the 13 applicants and the Mountain Home School Board is expected to vote on the new coach at Thursday night’s regular meeting.

Huskey says two applicants, Blake Hendricks and Phillip Taylor, came from within the district and both were assistant coaches with the high school team last season. They were both interviewed along with four applicants from out of the district. They were Kevin Lofthus, a volunteer assistant with the Bombers last season; Mountain Home graduate Ryan McMains, who is coaching in Liberty Towers, California; Tim Carver, a former Razorback who was an assistant coach at West Plains last year; and Chase Brewster, the former baseball coach at Genoa Central High School in Texarkana.

The new coach will replace Jim Tejcek who resigned earlier this summer to become the head coach at Rome, Georgia.
