A Mountain Home native has been named principal military deputy to an assistant secretary of the Army and promoted to the rank of lieutenant general. The Army made the announcement this week in a news release.According to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, Lieutenant General Paul Ostrowski was confirmed by the U.S. Senate in March and promoted in May.
The Arkansan now serves as the senior military adviser to Steffanie Easter, the acting assistant secretary of the Army for acquisition, logistics and technology and the Army acquisition executive.
In this role, Ostrowski “provides America’s soldiers a decisive advantage in any mission by developing, acquiring, fielding and sustaining the world’s best equipment and services and leveraging technologies and capabilities to meet current and future Army needs, enabling our soldiers to dominate the battle-space safely and securely,” the release stated.
Before his current position, Ostrowski served as the deputy commanding general for support of the Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan.
He was previously the executive officer to the commander of U.S. Special Operations Command at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida after several special forces and infantry assignments.
