The month of July saw an above average amount of rainfall and average temperatures this year with a total rainfall of 5.95 inches recorded at KTLO, Classic Hits 101.7 and The Boot, the official weather reporting station in Mountain Home for the National Weather Service. The average amount of rainfall for July is 2.73 inches. The wettest July on record was in 1905 when 10.76 inches fell.
The driest July month on record was in 1934, when just .12 of an inch of rainfall was recorded. The Twin Lakes Area last month saw nine days of precipitation with the fifth having the most at 3.47 inches.
The latest report from the U.S. Drought Monitor, published July 25th, shows the entire Twin Lakes Area remains out of drought conditions.
July didn’t set any temperature records as temperature highs, measured in the past, range from 102 degrees and up. The warmest day last month was July 23rd at 96 degrees. The hottest two days ever recorded in July was on the 13th and 14th of 1954 when temperatures soared to 112 degrees. Those two days hold the number two and number three spots of the top ten highest on record.
The lowest temperature of the month was 61 degrees, occurring on both the 30th and the 31st. The lowest temperature ever recorded for July is 46 degrees and happened on the 14th in 1975.
