In Thursday night’s meeting of the Mountain Home City Council the council unanimously approved the emergency installation of a 16-inch insta-valve. The installation will allow repair of a leak on the water distribution system which occurred on the corner of Arkansas Avenue and Highway 201 North. City Clerk Brian Plumlee says the area is in dire need of repair because the current set up contains no valve. Approximately 100 customers will be affected during the installation and some may notice lower water pressure.  Baxter Regional Medical Center will likely experience lower water pressure and Baxter Lab will temporarily be without water.

The installation should take place sometime next week and will last approximately four hours. City officials are coordinating with Baxter Regional and Baxter Lab. Notices will be distributed across media outlets.

Citizens who use at home dialysis machines are encouraged to contact The Mountain Home Water and Sewer Department at 870-425-5115.

In other council news the council voted to condemn a property at 213 Russell Lane. The owner of the property will have 30 days to respond .

Plumlee says all Mountain Home Street Department items were approved in one motion, during Thursday night’s session, including a list of items to be auctioned.
