Tuesday schedule includes home opener for MH volleyball

Football, volleyball, golf, cross country and baseball make up the local Tuesday schedule.

It’s the home opener for the Mountain Home High School volleyball team as they welcome Jonesboro Westside to the Hangar. The eighth grade match begins at 4:30 followed by the freshmen and varsity matches.
Elsewhere, Cotter hosts Bergman, Flippin entertains Marshall, Yellville-Summit travels to Clinton, and Valley Springs makes the trip to Prairie Grove.

Mountain Home’s high school golf teams return to Big Creek Golf and Country Club as they play a tri-match against Cotter and Harrison. Tee time is scheduled for two p.m.
In other high school golf, Melbourne faces Valley Springs at Cooper’s Hawk Golf Course.

The Mountain Home cross country teams will give its fans a chance to preview the upcoming season. The annual Blue-Gold Meet will begin at 7:00. The meet will be held at the course behind the high school campus and is open to the public. A parent meeting will be held following the meet.

Two of Mountain Home’s junior high football teams will also take part in a preseason tune-up as they host Batesville at Bomber Stadium for benefit action. The eighth grade game kicks off at 5:30 followed by the freshmen contest. Admission for all attendees will be four dollars, and 80 percent of the gate will go to the Arkansas Activities Association office in North Little Rock for the Catastrophe Fund. No passes, other than those issued by the AAA, will be accpeted at the gate.

In fall baseball, Gainesville is home against Dora.
