The Kansas City band Ozark is this week’s headliner for the 14th series of Mountain Home’s Friday Night Block Party on the Square. The free music show is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 Friday evening. Holy Smokes will be serving barbecue. The Baxter Historical Society will be selling ice cream sundaes. Funnel cakes and lemonade will be available as well. This week’s Sponsor is Lazy D’s Spirits from Flippin, plus friends and fans who helped.According to Event Coordinator Ron Shire, the band Ozark was founded by guitarist songwriter Rick Gibson and 2012 X-factor TV show finalist, Vino Alan (Brett Allen Casler). Both Casler and Gibson hail from south central Missouri and say they cherish their Ozark roots. The band Ozark brings their mountain music alive with rock and roots passion that appeals to any generation. Gibson’s songs are stories of the people and places of the Ozarks, all wrapped in a dynamic musical fabric of sound reminiscent of Led Zeppelin.

Based out of Kansas City, the band Ozark is on tour and promoting their debut EP release “Ozark Dirt Revival”.

The Friday Night Block Party will go through the second Friday of September. The family friendly event will have vendors, food, crafts and prizes.

Family Search Genealogy will have a booth set up. They will be offering free genealogy help from LDS Church at the Block Party each night this summer. For more information, contact Phyllis Henley at 870-421-9792.
