Dorothy Williams of Midway changed her plea to no contest on drug-related charges and was sentenced to five years probation during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.Williams and her husband, Edward, were arrested after a total of three controlled drug buys were made at their residence along Cedar Hills Road in February and March.
The transactions were arranged and carried out by a confidential informant working with police and were detailed in the probable cause warrant filed in the case.
While her husband was designated as the main player in the transactions, it was noted that during two of the buys, the 54-year-old Dorothy Williams was present at the residence and aware of what was taking place.
Dorothy Williams was sentenced under the provisions of Act 346, meaning that if she stays out of trouble during her probation period, she can apply to the court to have her record sealed.
Edward Williams case remains active. A jury trial in his case is now scheduled for October.
