Another bridge in Ozark County has reopened after getting destroyed by flood in the spring. According to the Ozark County Times, the Route JJ bridge over Little Creek near Thornfield opened to through traffic last week.
The structure was already on the Missouri Department of Transportation’s (MoDOT) list of bridges to be replaced before the damage occurred. When the flood hit in late April, the northside roadway approach was destroyed. Demolition and construction began in June and lasted two-to-three months.
According to MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map, two bridges in Ozark County are still closed on the North Fork River. The Route PP bridge is closed northeast of Tecumseh, and the Route CC bridge east of Dora is also unavailable to through traffic. Both bridges are set to reopen later this month.
