ST. LOUIS (AP) Yadier Molina and Matt Carpenter homered, and the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-3 Saturday night to gain ground in the NL Central. St. Louis pulled within three games of division-leading Chicago with its sixth victory in seven games.
The Cardinals will go for the sweep Sunday as they send Michael Wacha to the mound, and the Pirates go with Ivan Nova. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:15. Sunday’s game can be heard on KTLO-AM. The Ameren Pregame Show begins at 12:20.
