Dora’s high school softball team watched its season come to an end in the Class 1 State Tournament at Chaffee. The Lady Falcons were one out away from forcing an extra inning when they gave up a triple and a walkoff single, and they fell to the Lady Devils 8-7 in the sectional round. Dora’s final record is 17-11.
Ava is one victory away from a trip to Springfield after winning its sectional game in the Class 2 State Tournament. The Lady Bears defeated Doniphan 9-7 in front of the home crowd. Ava improves to 15-7 on the year, and they’ll compete in the quarterfinals Saturday against Kelly.
