
The Mountain Home Police Department’s Citizens’ Police Academy is now accepting applications for the 2018 program. The program will take place from April 9th through May 7th at the Mountain Home Police Department. Classes start in the evening at 6:00 and last two hours.
Class participants must be at least 18 years of age, free of criminal convictions, and complete an application. Applications can be completed online at www.mtnhomepolice.com or by visiting the police department at 424 West 7th Street in Mountain Home. Attendance is free of charge. The purpose of the Citizens’ Police Academy is to increase the participant’s knowledge of law enforcement, programs, and operations utilized by the police department and to improve police-community relations. The classes are designed to give participants an overview of the responsibilities and challenges faced when serving the community.
Graduates of the academy are encouraged by the police department to join the Mountain Home Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association.
The association is a major part of the department’s community policing efforts that are dedicated to improving the community’s quality of life.
