Sanders named Arkansas Museums Association vice president

The Arkansas Museums Association recently held its annual conference in Calico Rock, and Calico Rock Museum and Visitor Center Executive Director Gloria Sanders was elected as the association’s new vice president. In her new role, Sanders will serve on the board of directors and assist AMA President and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art Digital Media Specialist Heather-Marie Wells with the performance of her duties.

Sanders was selected as the AMA Distinguished Museum Professional in 2016. She is a graduate of the Jekyll Island Museum Studies program in Georgia, a legislative advocate for the American Alliance of Museums Association, and a presenter at the South East Museums Conference in New Orleans. She was instrumental in the founding and development of the Calico Rock Museum and the city’s economic revitalization.
