Hollywood RecordsThe soundtrack to the upcoming Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody will be released on Friday, October 19, two weeks before the movie is scheduled to open in theaters around the world.

The 22-track album features the classic studio versions of some of the band’s most famous songs, as well as updated renditions of some tunes, and rare or previously unreleased concert performances. Among the latter tracks are the five songs that Queen played at the historic 1985 Live Aid concert at London’s Wembley Stadium, which have never been officially released in audio form.

The Bohemian Rhapsody soundtrack begins with a newly recorded version of the “20th Century Fox Theme” by Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor. May, who co-produced the soundtrack with Taylor, came up with the idea to make the statement that the album was created specifically to accompany the movie.

The record also boasts a special “Movie Mix” of “We Will Rock You,” which blends the studio version of the song with a live rendition that includes audience participation.  There’s also an updated version of “Don’t Stop Me Now” with a new guitar solo contributed by May.

Perhaps one of the most interesting tracks on the album is “Doing All Right,” a song by May and Taylor’s pre-Queen band Smile.  May and Taylor reunited with original Smile singer/bassist Tim Staffell to re-record the song for the film.

As previously reported, Bohemian Rhapsody features Mr. Robot star Rami Malek as late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury. The film gets its world premiere in the U.K. on October 23, before getting its global release on November 2.
