Applications being accepted for Greening of AR grant program

Applications are being accepted for the Greening of Arkansas grant program for community beautification funding. Winning applicants could be awarded as much as $2,500 in funding. The deadline to apply is October 3rd, and recipients will be announced in December.To qualify for the grant, applicants must be a non-profit, community-based or civic organization located within the state of Arkansas. Once awarded, grant funds may only be used for the project, which must be on public property. At least 60 percent of the awarded funds must be spent on plant material.

All applications must include the application form, as well as a summary of the project, maintenance plan and an image of the proposed site. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

The grant program, now in its 12th year, is funded through proceeds from the Arkansas Flower and Garden Show. The show will celebrate its 28th year on March 1st through March 3rd at the Arkansas State Fairgrounds.
