The name Sears has been a part of the Mountain Home community since 1965. Cowart says the local business became a Sears Hometown Store in 2012. Since that time, Sears Hometown Stores have been cutting strings with the corporate entity. She said the bankruptcy announcement Oct. 15th was the last string to be cut between the two entities.

Cowart purchased the local Sears in 2004. She says she has been serving the community for a number of years and looks forward to continuing to do so for a long time.

There are more than 750 Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores in 49 states.
