A Yellville man entered a guilty plea on charges stemming from the theft of three kayaks and was put on probation for six years during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed in the case, 25-year-old Levy Derrick McGee was involved with others in the theft of the watercraft which were kept on Lake Norfork.

The theft occurred in August 2017.

In talking to one of the people involved, investigators were told the kayaks had been taken “from some rich people” and that the owners “needed to take better care of them.”

When law enforcement officers recovered the three kayaks, they found the serial numbers had been removed.

McGee was charged with theft of property and altering boat identification numbers.
